Spirit of Foods
Musings on food.
To man there is physical and spiritual. But to God all things are spiritual, and every law he has ever given is a spiritual law. Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual all seem to be man made distinctions to help us break up or break down our understanding of the multi dimensionality of spiritual. Which everything is.
Plants are designed to grow in certain seasons, which are also spiritual. They are designed to draw specific minerals and nutrients into them which create a response in our bodies on every level of spirit (the current subcategories we understand are physical, mental, emotional, spiritual).
Observing in nature, animals eat what nature provides, each fruit/plant/etc. in the season it is designed to germinate and produce in. The vegetation which is produced in a year is what will provide the resiliency, defense, immunity for the climate and all that lives in it. Root vegetables, winter squashes, apples, foods late in the year seem to stick for longer in digestion. It seems they naturally slow digestion and the system as a whole, having an effect of rest and hibernation on the whole system. Physical energy is decreased (ever experienced what people like to call a carb coma?), but mental and emotional spirit also appear to be brought into a slow down, hibernation, survival state.
Not wanting to do as much work appears to be what spirit is designed to do approaching winter. If we observe nature it appears that winter is when everyone sheds the excess (leaves lose their trees, bugs and plants go to seed and die), stops working (bees going into their hives), lives on reserves (honey bees, bears and other hibernating animals). Not a time to be expending energy or reserves. They need to last through the season of rest, restore and cold.
Vegitation, grains, nuts, seeds, animal meats which are encouraged by the Creator for us to eat at this time seem to have a slow-down, warming effect. The term "comfort food" comes to mind. Breads, soups, pies are things which have been born of these slower, warming foods.
Foods which have been processed, I have observed, also have a "comfort food" effect on the system, creating at times a similar response of slow down, use reserves, conserve energy, etc.
Hypothesis: Bodies are meant to move through the spiritual energy of seasons produced in their climate by eating foods grown in the soil upon which they live. When eating foods from other climates and seasons, preserved for longer than natural, or processed and packaged by man, it is confusing to the spirit of the consumer. Is it time to plant? Run? Prepare? Rest? Reserve? Conserve? Expend? What is it time for?!
With such confusion, I have observed that the system strives to achieve balance in one way or another.
* Some people perceive themselves as lazy... This is a tumultuous time. Stormy and wild out there. Hunker down and rest because we will need to be ready when is time to move.
* Others as lacking patience... Can nature just make up it's mind already? Just pick a season and stick with it!
* Some as not being sensitive or compassionate... This is a survival time man! No one knows when food/ water/shelter will be ripped away or run out! Every man for themselves!
* Others as indecisive... Well first I thought we aught to do this for this season, but then realized I'm also sensing to do this for this season. I JUST DON'T KNOW!!!
* Some hoarding (infirmation, food, things, etc.)... Who knows what will happen!? I'm getting so many mixed signals! Gotta keep it all to be ready for anything!!
* Fight or flight. Animal like Instinct are all in confusion. Be ready for anything because EVERYTHING is a surprise right now.
* Lacking focus because... Okay... what exactly should I be focusing on right now? You've (spirit from food) told med like 50 different things.
Perhaps the behaviors man kind has labeled as lack of self control are more about a confused spirit. Confused because of so many DIFFERENT spirits sending messages to our spirit at the same time. When there is a law of nature (such as gravity) there is always a set response or result which is equal and opposite. If a person steps from a ledge, gravity will pull them to the earth. Whether they are an adult who knows from previous experience the effects of gravity, or a child who is stepping from a ledge in ignorance of the law. Both will be pulled to the earth because of the law. There is a set response to God-given and Heavenly-designed foods as well.
When man changes what God has ordained it creates a different, mutilated response. Sadly, in our efforts to make things "easier" or "better" or more convenient at times, we are rather creating mutilation and altered response in our spirits, which is creating mutilated and altered people. Not the way God designed. Sickened and unwell. Not because they are evil or desiring evil (like the baby didn't WISH to fall from the ledge) but because it is Law that will not yield to what we hoped for or what we intended to happen.
One large lesson I am learning is I can not IMPROVE upon nature. It was made by God! The creator of this universe. Everything is self limiting and self sustaining. Everything except man. When man messes with Nature, it only seems to make things worse. Perhaps it is not my job to IMPROVE upon it, but to observe, watch, inquire of the Lord about, live in alignment with, to know the mysteries of God through his creations, to one day design as he does.
So what does this say for synthetic materials, fragrances, medications?
What does it say for heating and cooling?
Refined sugars and drugs?
Taking things from a whole state to just part of what it formerly was. Truth in part, but being separated from the whole it is not truth on it's own.
The human spirit/ body seems unable to process or compute with part truth, or unwholesome matter. Man, who was created that they might have joy, is unable to do so functioning on unwholesome matter.
